This Adjunct Faculty position is a limited-term position, and includes Day and PM shifts with variable hours.
Candidates
must possess an MSN degree or be enrolled in an MSN program, must
possess a BSN degree, a valid RN Wisconsin license, have a minimum of
two years full-time RN experience in direct patient care, must have
been employed as an RN within the past five years, and
keyboarding/computer skills are required.

Adjunct Faculty Position Description
Undergraduate Program Position Summary
The
adjunct faculty member is responsible for the planning, implementing
and evaluation of the assigned student learning experiences in the
classroom and/or clinical setting. A fully qualified adjunct faculty
member could be a course facilitator for a non-clinical course.
Reporting Structure
The
adjunct faculty member reports to the Undergraduate Program Director
and will usually function in collaboration with the course facilitator.
Key Functions and Responsibilities
- Complies with the established course syllabus.
- Confers with the faculty assigned to the course.
- Facilitates the teaching-learning process in the assigned area.
- Identifies alternative learning activities, when necessary.
- Advises students as necessary.
- Communicates key changes and/or concerns about student performance to Course Facilitator/Faculty.
- Assists with the compiling of quizzes and examinations, as requested.
- Writes anecdotal notes concerning the student's clinical performance.
- Writes clinical evaluations in cooperation with the course faculty.
- Corrects written assignments, such as care plans.
- Suggests areas for possible course revision.
Qualifications:
Education: Master of Science in Nursing as required by the State of Wisconsin. Doctoral preparation in nursing is preferred.
Experience:
Faculty members, including adjunct faculty, shall possess a "current
license to practice as a registered nurse in Wisconsin, have at least 2
years of full-time or equivalent direct care experience as a practicing
nurse, be employed in nursing within the last 5 years, and hold a
master's degree with a major in nursing. The only exception is an
individual for which the State of Wisconsin has granted temporary
approval as faculty while they complete their master’s degree.
