FINANCIAL AID NEWS AND NOTICES

Apply now for 2007-2008. The US Department of Education is now processing FAFSAs for the 2007-2008 academic year.  BCON freshmen and sophomores who will be taking general education courses at UW-Green Bay will need to be sure to list both the university and BCON on the FAFSA to receive results. UWGB’s school code is 003899; BCON’s school code is 006639. The 2007-2008 FAFSA will be based upon your (and your parents’, if you are a dependent student) 2006 federal income tax information. The fastest and easiest way to complete the FAFSA is via the FAFSA on the Web site at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Students applying for the 15-Month Accelerated Transfer Option should file a FAFSA prior to October 31, 2007.  Accelerated students need only list BCON (006639) in the college release section of the FAFSA.

HINTS TO HELP YOU SUCCESSFULLY FILE THE FAFSA:

Be sure to sign using your PIN number; remember, if your parents are required to include their information on the FAFSA, at least one parent must also sign, preferably with a PIN as well. If you (or your parent) do not yet have a PIN, you can apply for one via the link on the FAFSA on the Web site.

Print the FAFSA Worksheet available on the FAFSA on the Web site prior to completing the FAFSA and use it as a guide. The process will flow much more smoothly if you complete the worksheet first and then use it as a ‘cheat sheet’ to transfer responses to the actual on-line form when you are ready to file.

PRIVATE SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENTS

The following are private scholarship announcements received by the BCON financial aid office. We strongly encourage our students (current and prospective) to apply for as many private scholarships as possible. Unless otherwise noted, application forms are available from the BCON campus (financial aid bulletin board in the northeast wing). Currently enrolled students may pick up application forms during regular College business hours; those not on the BCON campus (ie. freshmen or MSN students), may request that an application be sent to them. Prospective BCON students may stop by during regular office hours if convenient or may contact the financial aid office to request an application be sent. Please send requests to lena.goodman@bcon.edu and be sure to include a current mailing address.
